We often refer to our St Kilda Market stallholders as a “family”, but four of our newest traders are exactly that – sisters! And what talented sisters they are…
A few months ago Mel joined the market with her traditional handmade Turkish Delight. Exotic rosewater, vanilla and orange flavours have been enticing customers each week – while her samples are well loved, her little donkey statue also gets lots of attention (and laughs).
A few weeks later, Rose arrived selling lovely homemade fruit jams; “Mango and Passionfruit”, Raspberry, “Orange Marmalade” and “Strawberry and Rose Petal”. Isn’t it gorgeous that “Rose” sells a jam that contains real rose petals? Rose’s jams don’t contain food colourings, preservatives or setting agents – just fruit and sugar and lots of flavour. You can sample Rose’s jams at her stall – they’re all so very good that you might find yourself taking home more than just one.
This weekend we welcome sisters number three and four, Violet and Dimple – bakers extraordinaire. Violet and Dimple will be joining us with a selection of muffins, cakes, slices and some fabulous meringues. Check out their selection of freshly baked of goodies on the day.
Come visit these very talented sisters on Sunday and treat yourself to something delicious.
