The St Kilda Esplanade Market has been an integral part of St Kilda’s weekend landscape for 48 years. It is Melbourne’s only seaside makers market, a jewel in the crown for the City of Port Phillip, boasting handmade products from gifts to fine jewellery and more every Sunday. The Market provides an outlet for makers of all ages, ranging from 14 to 83 years of age, one of the unique places for business retail for all ages.
The St Kilda Esplanade Market recently approved applications from young entrepreneurs to trade at the Market.
One of the aims of bringing young entrepreneurs to trade at the Market is to keep the tradition of arts and crafts alive in St Kilda. Additionally, it will provide young people with experience of running their own business and being part of something iconic with tourism experience.
This initiative is supported by the Market staff and the stallholders at the Market who will provide advice to the budding entrepreneurs from display ideas, sales prices and marquee hire. Helping the next generation of makers grow their ideas and passions for business and craft is essential to the evolution of the Market to continue successfully for another 48 years.
The market also supports the Space2B makers in St Kilda on Chapel Street by providing them with a stall space.
All our makers and performers get a unique platform to showcase their skills with international and local visitors. This is one of the few places that supports makers of all ages in one space.
